Frequently Asked Questions

  • How old do I need to be to participate?

You must be 16 years old or over on the day of the event to enter the 10k event and over 11 years old to enter the 5k. Dogs must be 1 year old or older.

The Family Wolfpack Run is for all ages of children up to 16 years old. Please note that children up to 11 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

  • I have never ran with my dog, can I enter?

Dogs love to run, but just like humans, dogs need to work up to a running distance. Please take your dog's training seriously.

We ask that only dogs aged 1 and above participate in the 10k and 5k events.

If you are unsure whether your dog is fit enough, please consult your vet.

  • Do I need to run?

Nope! Our events are focused on having fun with your dog in stunning locations. There will be a walking wave, which you can select on registration.

  • What are the rules for participating?

The emphasis of our events is to have fun with your dog in the great outdoors. However, to make this an enjoyable event for all, please follow the below guidelines:

    • If your dog is reactive, please ensure your dog is wearing a muzzle. This must be baskerville style, allowing the dog to pant and drink.
    • Please refrain from attending if your dog has recently developed a cough.
    • Please be respectful to other participants, don't allow your dog to lunge at others - some dogs can be anxious.
    • When passing others on the course, choose a time when you have plenty space and make them aware you're going to be passing.

You can find more information on equipment here

  • Do I need any specialist equipment to enter?

Every dog is different and every running style is different.

If you are running in the canicross wave, you must be wearing the correct canicross equipment. For those not running in the canicross wave but still running with your dog, we would advise at least wearing a well fitting y-front harness.

The walking wave requires no specialist equipment.

Find out more about equipment and a special offer on our EQUIPMENT page.

Choke chains, slip leads and restrictive harnesses will not be permitted.

  • How will I receive my running number?

Running numbers will be available to collect on the morning of the event from 0800.

  • What is included in my entry?

Humans in the 10k and 5k event will receive a goodie bag jam-packed with a bespoke wooden medal, Christmas themed technical t-shirt, an abuncance of dog treats, a human treat and a drink.

Your entry fee also covers medical cover, timing, venue hire, photography and event infrastructure.

  • What is the course like?

    TBC

  • Will there be a mass or staggered start?

Participants who are running the course will be started in staggered waves (this will be communicated pre-event).

Those walking will be set off after the runners in a mass start.

  • Will there be prizes for the winners?

There will be rosettes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in:

    Female - 10k - 1 dog

    Female - 10k - 2 dog
